Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes

• Location: The grotto is nestled in a recess along the road linking Daverdisse to Redu via Séchery, on the banks of the Franc Ry.

• History: Built in 1902, it is a replica of the famous Grotto of Massabielle in Lourdes.

• Pilgrimage: Since 1903, a pilgrimage has been held there every September 8, attracting many worshippers. Pilgrims drink water from a fountain located in the upper part of the site, which they consider beneficial.

• Restoration: The grotto was restored in 2016 thanks to funding from the “Petit Patrimoine populaire wallon” program.

• Statues: The grotto houses the statues of Our Lady of Lourdes and Saint Bernadette, which have been renovated. By taking the path behind the grotto, it is also possible to admire the statues of Saint John and Mary Magdalene.

• Natural setting: The site offers a peaceful, relaxing environment, often included in hiking routes, particularly along both banks.
