Former Castle of the Lords of Daverdisse

The former castle of the Lords of Daverdisse is a historic residence with a turbulent past. Destroyed by fire in 1829, the castle was rebuilt several times and is now a private home.

It is important to note that the current building is no longer a castle in the feudal, defensive sense of the word, but rather a large and beautiful country residence. The Passion altarpiece, dating from the 16th century and originally from the castle’s former chapel, was sold in 1831 and is now housed in the Church of Saint Peter in Daverdisse.
